Born August 31st, 1951 in Safford, AZ. Came to Houston with his parents in 1952 & spent most of his youth in NE Houston (North Forest ISD) attending Smiley HS until his junior year when the family moved to Ella Lee Forest in October 1967. Participated in Marching Band (trumpet) & ROTC at Waltrip, performing in the Thanksgiving Day parade downtown. Attended Sam Houston State for 3 semesters before going to work as a machinist with Hahn & Clay on Clinton drive. Changed careers in 1978 to enter the construction trade working for Houston Nat'l Plumbing located in Inwood Forest doing mostly residential work (all over the Houston area) & serving as their Master plumber for 8 years. Continued on his own working in Houston through the mid 1990's & in the Austin/San Antonio area till his death. He was always willing to teach others the right way to apply their trade. For two years, he taught construction classes for the Texas Youth Commission in San Marcos, TX helping troubled youth get a second chance at life through job skills & placement. An avid outdoors-man (fishing was his lifeblood) a kind person & a friend to everyone he met. Helping others less fortunate than him, even when he was not well himself.
